February 17th 2020 - Another transfer down, 7 more to go 😳

GOOOOOOOD MORNING!

Hope everyone had a great week. Read down for more updates.

Last p day was pretty good. Went shopping and then pretty much spent the day at the church talking to family so that was nice. It's such a blessing to be able to call home each week. Had another lesson with Gary who each time we teach we learn something new about. He's lived a pretty awesome life so far. Excited to see where he continues to go.

Tuesday was a bit of a roller coaster day. The sisters in our district got sick so we took them some orange juice. Went to district council. Please enjoy these pictures of our zone leader (picture 1), our district (picture 2), and our zone (picture 3). Fun times. We then had interviews with president. I love interviews. They always leave me feeling pumped. President gave sister Roberts and I a new idea for our area. We went home and hashed out this plan so excited about it. Tried a few people before going to dinner. Had dinner at jalapenos a Mexican restaurant here. Pretty good. We also got frozen yogurt from yogurt beach. I got pineapple which reminded me of dole whip from Disneyland. 😅 love our amazing members who take care of us. Went to our ward mission meeting and well they didnt love our new idea. So were reworking it but we both felt pretty down after that meeting.

Wednesday was a pretty normal day. Sisters were still down so dropped off some goodies for them. Did service at st Vincent's. I love that store. It's an amazing thrift store. If I wasn't on my mission I'd probably be spending way too much money there. 😅 we had a lesson with Gary and well he had some concerns he brought up. I'm sad to report we had to take him off date for baptism. For now. Were still working with him and hopefully we can help him get past his concerns. Had dinner with some new move ins. They have a stray cat that had the coolest coloration. Picture 4 to show. Visited some people before heading home. I love getting emails during the week. They make my day.

Thursday was a great day. The weather was beautiful as we tried a few people in the morning. Came back, had lunch, then did weekly planning. Weekly planning is so nice to be able to just take time to break down the area and figure out what to do. Went to dinner then did splits with the sisters. I stayed with sister heath who still wasn't feeling good. Kept her company. Went to our lesson with Ed who is so cool. Overall great day.

Friday was a day. I sadly woke up not feeling the best. Took some medicine which helped a bit. Went and did service at the caulks. Oh look! I have a picture! Picture 5 of sister Roberts and I in our matching frozen shirts. So fun. Came home and I died a bit. We did splits with the sisters again and I crashed on their big comfy chair. Went to dinner with the boressela family who made us a cute valentine's card. Picture 6. Went to another lesson with Gary. It went well. We visited the Humphries who are amazing. We had chocolate covered strawberries. Well I don't know what happened exactly but were talking and they have the cutest German Shepard. Picture 7. They taught him to speak but also when they say attack he barks more at the person they point to. Well at first I was laughing when this happened but then I ended up in tears. We think it was a mix of sickness, tired, and maybe some PTSD. I pulled it together and then kind of was a puddle the rest of the night. Yeah kind of a rough day.

Saturday I died. Woke up with a full fledged cold/sickness. Wasn't up for long before I crawled back into bed. I was out till almost lunch time. Got up and we made French toast and bacon for lunch. So good. Ended up crashing again until about 4. We ordered Chinese food for dinner and watched On the Lord's Errand: The life of Thomas S Monson. Seriously so good. Highly recommend. Kind of just relaxed after that and then went to bed. Lot of resting which definitely helped.

Sunday I was mostly okay. Bit of lingering sickness. Spent the morning reading the book of mormon. Got behind a bit so trying to catch up. Went to church which is always good. Had lunch and some comp study. Tried a few people but not much luck. Went to the Perry's for ward mission meeting and dinner which was good. Had another lesson with Gary. We really focused on just following the spirit and helping him regain his fire for this gospel. It was such a good lesson and even though I didnt feel good I bore my account of happiness in this church. I cannot Express enough how much I love this gospel. I've lived on the other side of the line and I know that this is the only way to find true and lasting happiness. I'm forever grateful for the path I'm on and where I'm headed.

We recieved transfer calls.......
DRUM ROLL PLEASE!

NO CHANGE!
Haha yup. Sister Roberts and I are here for another 6 weeks. WOOT! Well see what kind of adventures we get into.

Anyways that was my week. A lot of ups and downs but a lot of growing too. I'm forever grateful for all the support I receive. It makes the hard times bearable knowing I have so many people supporting me. I hope you all had a great week! See you next week!

Love,
Sister Sydney Hanks 😅
