Here's the update for the week!
Monday was a pretty great P day. It was nice that we weren't being transferred so the day was pretty chill. We went to olive garden for lunch with the sisters before sister heath left. We then went shopping at target. I got a cute new sweater. Picture 1 is the day I wore it. Love it. Went to the church and wrote out postcards and called family. Went and tried a few people after p day ended. Loved it.
Tuesday was pretty good. Listend to the talk Lessons from Eve by President Nelson from 1987. Its super good and I highly recommend everyone listen to it. Tried a few people in the morning, had lunch, then took our car in to get fixed. It was so weird driving on the highway and then sitting at the dealership. We were there for about 2 hours. I seriously felt like I was home for a bit as I've gotten my cars fixed a few times. Sister Roberts was losing her mind.
picture 2 is of the Great and spacious resort (I mean Grand Sierra resort) Haha. Had dinner at home and then visited a few people. Overall pretty good day.
Wednesday was a bit all over. Got ready and then went to service at st Vincent's. Got lunch at in-n-out. Picture 3 of sister Roberts and I. We then went to the chiropractor. All the things popped. It felt pretty good but I still feel like I've got some pain in different areas. Tried some people in our farther parts of our area or as we call it the valley. Dinner at the Goddards. I love them they're so funny. Had a lesson with Gary that wasn't the best so that was a bit hard. Came home and just wasn't feeling good so I got a bit down.
Thursday was a pretty good day. Sister Roberts went to the mission leadership council and I hung out with sister Craghead and Sister Daugherty. We went and did some service for a lady in their ward and swapped stories about our lives. It was so much fun. I've genuinely found a love for painting houses. Had chick fil a for lunch. We changed then went tracting. Picture 4 is all of us together. It goes me, sister craghead, and sister Daugherty. Sister Roberts got back and we went to dinner at the Peter's. Delicious chicken soup. Loved it. Gave a book of mormon to Kelly who we get to meet with again next week! Yay! Had a great lesson with sue who always has great questions for us and is genuinely interested. It was a great day.
Friday I wrote in my journal wasn't super eventful but it was a good day. I read the talk Firm and Steadfast in the Faith of Christ by Elder Christofferson which was so good. Another thing I recommend reading or listening to. We then went to service at the caulk's which I always love. Got to know the new elders to our area a bit more. Excited for this transfer with them. Came home and did some weekly planning. We made a bunch of hearts to heart attack people's doors. We went to dinner at the Allen's and they have a super pretty black cat. It ended up nipping at me later on.
super funny. Went to another lesson with Gary which went a lot better. He's got the craziest stories about his life. So fun.
Saturday we were out and about the whole day. We walked around some neighborhoods to try people and the weather was so nice! We got subway for lunch and then went up to the valley to try a bunch of people. The valley is a lot of ranch homes and big open land. It was so much fun. Picture 5 is of us with a llama we saw and had to take a picture with. So funny. Had dinner with the Richard's which was fun. Visited the chernachs and they have the cutest kids. Man I love little kids they're so sweet. We then heart attacked a bunch of doors. Here's just one of many pictures we took. Picture 6. I love heart attacking because it just brightens everyone's day.
Pretty normal Sunday. We had ward council in the early morning so we were out pretty soon from the house. Presented our new idea to split our wards into areas and out a ward missionary over each area. We're excited to see how it goes. Had lunch at home then went to the valley again. Not too much to report there. Had dinner at home but just relaxed since neither of us were hungry. Tried a few people then had an amazing lesson with Gary. He's progressing it's just a lot slower now which is okay. Were just happy he's still having us over.
Anyways that was the week. It's been crazy and well this week is gonna be just as crazy too. This week will fly by and then next week is my birthday. AH! still don't know how I feel about being 25. So weird. Anyways love you all! Have the best week ever!
Love,
Sister Sydney Hanks ⛰
