February 10th 2020 - Another journal down, and another baptism in the works

GOOD MORNING PEOPLE!

This week has been crazy to say the least. So hold on for a great update!

Last p day was pretty great. We went grocery shopping. Sister Roberts and I bought matching frozen shirts. I'll share a picture once we wear them. We went to buffalo wild wings for our district activity. Picture 1 is of my delicious meal. Called family and just love them so much. Our lessons that night fell through so we tried a bunch of people. Picture 2 is of these super cute puppies a part member family had. Mini Australian shepherds.

Tuesday it hit that in a month from that day I'll be 25. 😳 that's just weird. That morning I realized, and after talking with sister Roberts, it dawned on us that the plan of salvation is unique to our church. I can't believe I never realized that. I love it so much. We had a lesson with Gary and were so grateful because he got some answers to his prayers. He's so ready to keep making these changes in his life. Our lessons canceled again that night so we did a lot of finding. Been working to be more positive in this area.

Wednesday was pretty chill. Did service at st Vincent's as usual. We got lunch from chick fil a. 😍 Man I missed chick fil a. We had dinner and then our lesson fell through. Lot of lessons falling through this week. We were able to get into some people's houses though so that was good. We also stopped by the church to drop of baptismal clothes for some sisters that had had a baptism earlier that week. Picture 3 is of the tiny font in our building.

Thursday was crazy. Had cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Tried a few people in the morning. Had an early lunch and a bit of weekly planning before our lesson with David. David is so fun. He's got a lot of spiritual insight. We gave him a come follow me that he's excited to read. We came back and did weekly planning. Picture 4 is of the trolls cookies we made while we planned. Went to dinner and then had another lesson with Gary. I love our lessons with Gary they always have an amazing spirit. We then went to Ed's whose so awesome. Great day overall.

I wish I had better things to report for Friday. Sister Roberts and I both got the weirdest sickness. It felt like someone had dumped sand into our bodies. I was out for most the day resting. Luckily we were both able to feel a bit better and get out of the house. We went to dinner with the Hamilton's at a place called pizza plus. It was really good. Tried a few people but we were both super drained still. In good news we saw 8 teslas that day.

Saturday was a busy day that totally wiped me out. We got to be involved in mini missions which us when the youth get to come out with us and experience what a mission is like. We went up to pyramid lake! Picture 6 is of the lake. There's not too much up there but the people were super nice. We then had another lesson with David which was cool. He's really good at reading people. The mini missionaries loved it. We then had a lesson with Gary. I'm happy to report that we put him on date for baptism on February 29th. YAY! We are so excited! It was also great to have those youth there to experience it. Picture 7 are of the awesome girls that joined us. Picture 8 is not the best picture but I wanted to show off my slacks. I love them. Had dinner at home then tried a few people that night. Crazy day, so tired. Pictures 9 and 10 are of the sunset that night.

Sunday was so good. We had a great ward council with our Red hawk ward. Gary came to church! Everything said in church was just what you'd want someone looking into the church to hear. The ward was super welcoming to Gary. He has an amazing story going. Fun fact. We've only been teaching him a week! Isn't that crazy?! I love seeing how quickly things progress when someone has an open heart. We tried a bunch of people and had a great dinner.

Well that was the week. It's been a great one. Bit of up and down but man it's been worth it. I hope you all had a great week and have another one to come! Love ya!

Love,
🌊Sister Sydney Hanks 🌊
