January 13th 2020 - And the verdict is.......

Hello people I adore!

So quick update I am back in sparks so my mailing address is the mission office which is 580 reactor way suite 3 Reno Nv 89502. Alright now onto the update!

Monday was so hard for me. It didn't help that I didn't sleep at all the night before. My nerves and stress got the better of me and my stomach wasn't happy. I got so much encouragement from friends and family which I greatly appreciated. I cried a lot while packing up. Taught one last lesson in our area that night. Got a blessing from Brother Hadley which majorly helped. Picture 1 is of a Polaroid we took one last time of our district along with elder marra and Dana.

To shock everyone including myself I loved Tuesday actually. Left the apartment and said goodbye to sister bailey. She was so sad to see us go. Loaded the car and went on our way. Picked up sister finch and carvaned with sister viekoso and cook. 4.5 hours later arrived in Reno at the mission office. I got to see so many missionaries I've grown close to it was so good! Said goodbye to sister galvez which was a bit hard. Met sister Roberts though and she's awesome. We piled 5 sisters into our truck with a bunch of luggage and went to Walmart. Got a few things then dropped off the sisters in our district. We had dinner at a delicious Mexican place and then went finding. It was a crazy busy day that honestly helped me really relax and feel better about this transfer.

Wednesday was the first full day in my new area. Got a ton of work done. I actually slept really good so I was super happy. We went to st Vincent's which is a large thrift store here to do service. It was fun and a really good thrift store. Sister Roberts introduced me to making pizzas on pita bread. So good. We then went out again. It's been a while since I've done so much tracting. Oh! We're over two wards here. Red hawk and Pyramid lake. Our areas are huge! There's so many dots for people to try so we've been working through those. Had dinner with some awesome members.

Thursday was a fun day and busy day. Went on a split while sister Roberts went to a meeting. She's our sister training leader so that's awesome. I was with sister craghead in her area. So a lot of walking and knocking doors. It was a bit cold so that was fun. Picture 2 is of the view from the apartments we were knocking. Really pretty. Man knocking doors just makes time fly sometimes. Met back up with sister Roberts again. Had a great dinner with our mission leader in red hawk ward. Visited a few people and had some good lessons. Came home and crashed. You know you've done good when you sleep really good.

Friday made me really love my new area. I was finally able to get all my study stuff unpacked in the morning. It was so nice. I was able to work in come follow me and I'm just loving it so much! If you haven't gotten into it yet go do it! Well we then went and did service at a member's home. We mucked a horse stall. πŸ˜„ Been a while since I've worked in a barn. It was fun. Had a delicious lunch of enchilada casserole. Went home and changed then did more service at a center called more to life where old folks can go for activities. I played pool will a guy whose been all over playing pool. It was so fun! Did a lesson with some members which involved jenga. Super fun. Had a good dinner. We visited a lady who told us about the coyotes and rattlesnakes in the area. πŸ˜… so that's fun. Met with a cute couple who have an amazing cat named tweety. He's actually famous on Instagram so check him out tweetyusa72. After today I just felt so happy to be a missionary and to be doing this work.

Saturday was crazy busy. Probably going to be how the days go for a while. Picture 3 is of my completed puzzle I did in the morning. Love it! We went out and did some tracting. A lot of walking and knocking doors. I've got some fun pictures though. Picture 4 was of a sign I saw. I laughed pretty hard. So funny. Picture 5 is of a hawk as we were tracting in red hawk so that was super cool. Had dinner with the Egan's a super fun couple. They made a Brazilian dish of beans and meat over black rice that was really good. Had my first lesson in this area with a cute family who were hoping will be baptized in March so that's exciting. Just loving life.

Sunday was way crazy. Two wards keeps one super busy. I blinked and the day went by. We had to be out the door before 7:30am to make our first ward council meeting. The mission has shown I can get ready super fast. Our ward councils were so good. They do so well focusing on missionary work. We discussed the talk spiritual capacity in relief society. It was so good. Went home and had lunch. Share stories with sister Roberts. Super fun. Tried a few people and then had dinner at Bishop's from our pyramid lake ward. We had steak which I haven't had in a while and I was so happy. Did a bunch of tracting after dinner. The wind here is nasty and cold so fun times. Picture 6 is of the sunset that day. So pretty.

So least to say as hard as the news of transfers was I adore my new area and my companion. Thank you for all of your amazing support. It means the world to me. I love you all! I'm excited to see what this transfer holds. Stay tuned.

Love
⛰Sister Sydney Hanks πŸ¦…
