Hello my favorite people!

This week has been a rough one to say the least. I'll explain more below.

Last p day was a bit of a mess. Was able to talk to a lot of family and email friends so that made my heart happy. Walmart was closed all day because of a power outage so had to try Smith's for a few essentials I needed till my new companion arrived later in the week.

Tuesday was an extremely busy crazy day. It was sister Garris last day in spring Creek but were still missionaries so we had a full day. Started the morning helping the elmores in our ward paint their deck which I actually loved doing. Hurried home after, changed, then sat closer to the house so we could get good wifi for calling in to the meeting in Reno. I discovered my companion was not there. She would be arriving from temple square the following day. I'll tell more about here shortly. We then rushed over to have a lesson with David. Hopefully we can put him on date for baptism soon. Had dinner with the picketts. Super cute family. Got a few more things done and then sister Garris finished packing up.

Wednesday was not one of my favorite days. I packed an overnight bag because I would be staying with some sisters till my companion arrived. Picture 1 is mine and sister Garris's last picture together. We got a ride into town and I cried a bit saying goodbye to sister Garris. I was then with the YSA(young single adults) sisters in a temporary trio. The live with the sweetest lady who they call grandma. She made us lunch of grilled cheese and tomato soup. So good. We then did some tracting and contacted a few people. Had dinner with sister Robinson. Got to meet a few more people in the ysa ward. Had a lesson with a less active which was really good. Dealt with getting things situated for transfers and got a bit stressed from it all.

Thursday started out a bit rocky. I was still super stressed so my mood wasn't the best. I fought a lot of feelings of wanting to give up and just go home. During my personal study I ended up reading Roman 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
I then went to the footnotes and read Alma 36:3 and replaced o my son helaman with oh my daughter Sydney.  And now, O my son Helaman, behold, thou art in thy youth, and therefore, I beseech of thee that thou wilt hear my words and learn of me; for I do know that whosoever shall put their trust in God shall be supported in their trials, and their troubles, and their afflictions, and shall be lifted up at the last day.
Even though I was still stressed I tried my best to put my trust in heavenly father. Grandma made us breakfast of eggs, sausage, hashbrowns and toast. Really good. We did a bit of tracting not too much to report. We then had a lesson with a girl the sisters are teaching. She's amazing and loves the gospel. We had lunch of fried rice back at grandma's. Tried a few people on the sisters list. Had a lesson with a family in my ward who are working to go to the temple to have their son sealed to them. So awesome. Did some tracting in spring Creek. Had dinner at teriyaki madness. Super yummy. We went and tried some apartments and ended up sitting down with this older gentleman who isn't a member but had some pretty cool spiritual insights. We thought it was going to be a bible bash but luckily it wasn't. Went back to the apartment and did some studies before meeting up to get things situated so my new companion and I could get home. So crazy. Picture 2 is of me with sister viekoso and sister paveldakes.

So thanks to stress Thursday night I didn't sleep well dealing with an upset stomach. Luckily didn't throw up so yay. Friday was a bit of a busy day. We went to a training meeting in town then stopped at Walmart for supplies. We went out to teach a lesson but the person wasn't home. Visited glenda then went to dinner at kalens. Came home and did some companionship studies.

I feel like most of the last week was meetings and being in town. Saturday morning we went back into town for a special meeting with bishop waddell and his wife. This email is already pretty long so I'll just mention a few short things. They both focused on finding christ at the center of our lives and how important that is. It was really good. We then bundled up and went out to trailer. Picture 3 is of my new companion and I! Her name is sister Galvez. She's from Georgia but she's currently on outbound from her home mission at temple square! Yay! We have a lot in common so we get along really well. I love how much I get a long with all my companions. We were able to have another amazing lesson with Julie and shes growing so much in the gospel it makes me so happy. Visited with sister Robinson who made us some hot chocolate and herbal tea to warm up. It was pretty cold with wind and rain that day. We then went out again and tried a few people. Had dinner with glenna which was really good. Got to visit Jenny. Love the people in this area so much.

Sunday was a super good day. Finally back to normal. Went to stake conference which I will be honest when I was home I never attended. Shame on me because man was it amazing. Its pretty much a mini general conference. I took a lot of notes. My favorite was when the stake president spoke. He spoke of the importance of turning back to christ. To follow Peter's example. Others spoke of the importance of temples. I miss going to the temple so much. I encourage all who can to go! Picture 4 is one I took as we were driving home. I really liked it. After that we had a lesson with a girl who loves the gospel and has been looking for peace in her life. I'm excited to keep teaching her. We came home and walked around our area and tried a few people. Picture 5 is of a black cat we saw. Wish I got a better picture but he looked like a black Panther. Picture 6 is of the view. Got to visit abby and see how she's doing. Had dinner at the church's house. Yummy soup. We then went over our notes from the weekend for companion study and just really bonded. I'm so excited to serve with sister galvez. Shes got a lot of spirit.

Anyways that was my week. It was crazy and I saw my faith tried a lot. I'm grateful for my strength and being able to push through. I love my mission and this gospel more every day. I hope you all have a great week! Love you!

Love,
Sister Sydney Hanks ❤
